It’s a New Game Every Time

The good news is that every day is a new day, and every moment in time allows us to approach life as if it’s a new game. Zen calls this “beginners’ mind”:

“If your mind is empty, it is always ready for anything, it is open to everything. In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert’s mind there are few.”
Shunryu Suzuki

In engaging with each other to build the new world we know is possible, it helps to approach each situation as a new game. We need to discover the rules, and make the right moves. One of the key questions is, how do we make decisions together?

(Which of course raises the question of who “we” are. Are we a community? A tribe, or tribe of tribes? A cooperative? A social network? Once this is decided, we’ll let you know.)
